Toyota has had some type of internal Kaizen course for training employees going back to the 1950’s. First there was the TWI Job Methods course and then in 1955 the Shingeo Shingo P-Course. Eventually both were replace by an internal Kaizen Skills course in the latter part of the 1970’s. Below you find an English translation of the files I made in conjunction with Isao Kato quite some time ago. Toyota has different materials and methods used for training today but these reflect the concepts that were emphasized during the main development of TPS and Kaizen skills development from the latter 1970’s onward.
